FORGOTTEN LANDSCAPES

Wood, acrylic glass, and photo slides, 2020.

By looking at nature through the lens of modernism, Forgotten Landscapes connects us to our environmental past and future begging the question, “Is this where we came from, or where we are going?” Photo slides depicting landscapes are encased within a handcrafted wooden box alluding to the idea that nature has not only been boxed in, diminished, and detached — but also enshrined. Although one must actively look to see, a void offers a view of what nature was hidden.
